Roque recently completed his second year at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Faculty of Law. At law school, he serves as Vice-President of the Oral Advocacy Club, where he organizes events such as the annual Dean's Cup Moot. He also participated as a researcher on TRU’s Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot Team, which reached the semifinals. Roque is actively involved in community work through Pro Bono Students Canada, collaborating with Kamloops Immigration Services to deliver a workshop and plain-language resources on British Columbia’s Residential Tenancy Act. He serves as Co-President of the TRU Law Soccer Club and co-founded the TRU Law Cycling Club. Roque is a recipient of the Mike Wolfson Scholarship, awarded to law students with backgrounds in engineering, science or construction who demonstrate academic excellence and professional experience. Prior to law school, Roque earned a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from Simon Fraser University, majoring in French, Political Science and History. He later studied Civil Engineering at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and worked as an estimator, project co-ordinator and materials testing technician. Roque is fluent in English and Spanish, and conversational in French. In his spare time, Roque enjoys making fun breakfasts with his family and watching English Premier League matches.
